Man. So. I got in touch with
Dr Towle this weekend (yes, this weekend) because I wasn't sure about Sam's eye and I now have someone I can ask these questions to.
I have mentioned that one of the more difficult and frustrating things about this ---- injury (I decided to leave
out the words I'd like to say) is that we're on our own with Sam. Most of his doctors generally look at me
like I just don't get it: "Oh, you silly woman, why are you bothering trying to make him <
swallow, hurt less,
stay alive>? Why are you wasting my time and deluding yourself?"
So we've resigned ourselves to the fact that we're on our own, but Sam has shown no interest in Mark Twain or iambic
pentameter so my degree in secondary English Ed has not been too useful.
BUT ANYWAY - Dr Towle DOESN'T think Sam is a waste of time, he CAN help Sam and WANTS to help Sam. I would
love to explain how that hits me, but all I get is yammering in my head. (I say "thank you" to him all the
time and think that sounds like nothing, and I kind of laugh thinking if only I were typing I could use a 400 size font
and THAT would explain it MUCH better!)
But not only that, he EVEN wants to help Sam on a weekend! His temp went up to almost 103 in the night on Saturday,
so we drove out to see him on Sunday afternoon, and he fixed him right up. He wiggled his ears (Sam's, not his
own), and adjusted them, and allowed things to flow properly again, and gave me some remedies to treat him with at home. His
mom (one of our reiki angels) came over and reiki-ed him, and Sam was one happy chappy by the time we headed home. By
Sunday night, all was good with him. This morning he had physical therapy, and he worked hard and did well.
Oh, I and I put the whites on his feet Sunday morning - that helped too. Don't forget that
egg white remedy if you ever need it - it's pretty wild.
