Well, Sam is doing so well I'm almost afraid to say anything. It doesn't make any sense that the
ABR therapy is working so quickly, but he is blinking MUCH more, BURPING (a big deal for a boy with an altered stomach), looking around,
and vocalizing all through the day. It's so exciting and it feels so much like he's even closer to coming out of
there.
It almost scares me - we're not expecting anything to happen so quickly.
But we also heard his jaw clicking during physical therapy yesterday a few times - if his jaw is moving into place already;
well, that's just big big stuff.
And I am completely at a loss for words.
So I'll tell you something different. He's doing great. He was such a great kid in Canada, and
he met so many special kids and had so much fun. He raced wheelchairs and had big fun with the kids who were there.
Sam is doing GREAT. Ben is doing GREAT. We are so excited about the ABR therapy - it's like watching
paint dry, but it's doing something already. Can you even believe it? I'm amazed.
We got home Saturday evening - the flight home was uneventful, as flights should be. Everything went well.
I will post more tonight - right now, I'm still climbing a mountain of laundry and trying to recover. I've tried unsuccessfully
to convince Sam that daylight saving time means he should sleep later.
ABR went well - it was a lot to digest, and a lot to come to terms with, but it is good. I feel very different
coming home from this than from anything else. It's good - too tired to find words, but it's good.
