Welcome to the Bob Blog. "Bob" is Sam's alter ego. Before Sam was born, Ben decided
his name should be Bob. (We should have known better than to ask, right?) And it stuck. As
Sam gets better and better, Ben calls him "Bob" a little less. We think when Sam wakes up, "Bob" will disappear completely
as far as Ben is concerned. As for the rest of us, well, Bob's a hard habit to break...
I'll try and keep everybody updated on Sam's progress, my thoughts, our daily ups and downs. It's tough sometimes,
and I don't do as well as I'd like.

November 18, 2007
I was just hanging out with Sam (yes, it's way past his bedtime) and I noticed that his left hand is nice and loose and
open. His left hand is normally "fisted" - you have probably seen people who are brain injured (strokes and stuff) whose
hands are in fists, and Sam's left hand is usually like that. When he sleeps, he loosens up some, but he's really loose
right now. So that's good to see. His hands are usually so tight I actually have to worry about anti-fungal inside
his fist - pretty gross.
He has also gotten more and more expressive. I dropped Ben off at a birthday party last weekend, and Sam and I
went back home. The party was less than a mile away, and I had to pull over about a dozen times to tend to Sam.
He was throwing himself all over the place, needing suctioning, just carrying on like a maniac. He was not happy
about going back home!
Here he comes, huh?
