I'm sorry if the title of this page led you to believe it was just cheers and celebration.  Actually, it's mostly my connections.  When Sam was about two, I discovered  Yahoo! Groups and it really changed everything.  I found a network of moms.  Really, what more is there to say?  Moms are the smartest, most persistent, most dedicated group there is.  Dads are good, too, but man, oh man, you'd be stunned at what moms can do when they're given no options.

A lot of these moms are going through similar battles.  Some have battles that are entirely different.  We ALL are convinced there's something more we can do for our children, and are willing to go to the ends of the earth to find it.  These moms have been the best resource and best support I could hope for.

I honestly don't know what anyone did 20 years ago without this access.

It is what it says it is - ABR moms doing ABR on their kids, and we talk CONSTANTLY about what we're doing, how we're doing, and what is going on with our kids.  I'd lose my marbles completely without these moms.

Brain Injury Alternatives for kids.  For people who are fed up with traditional medicine offering them no hope and no help.  This is a group of moms who are on the lookout constantly for something that makes sense and can help.  A lot of information about stem cell therapy on here.

Sam has a feeding tube, but that doesn't mean he has to be fed bottled chemical crap.  He received breast milk for the first 15 months of his life (when the third breast pump flew off the couch BY ITSELF and smashed on the floor, I figured it was time to move on) and I just couldn't tolerate the idea of giving him bottled junk all day, every day.  So he gets regular food squished to smithereens in the blender.  It's not as easy as it sounds, and this is a group of moms doing the same thing.  Major support, ideas, and recipes - what they have taught me about nutrition is invaluable.

Pretty much, just what it says.  Parents of kids with cerebral palsy.  Mostly this is a discussion of a lot of traditional therapies and techniques, equipment ideas, etc.  Experiences, exchanges, what works and what doesn't.

So much good information about stem cell transplants.  The moderator is now acting as a liaison for parents going to China; she has personal experience and is so very knowledgeable on all aspects of stem cell safety.

This is support for families who are trying to help someone they love who is blind because of a brain injury, as opposed to blindness caused by an eye issue.  Lots of great ideas about how to help our kids and who are the best doctors to do so.  You'd never believe how many doctors know nothing at all about eyes.

A homeopathic, aryuvedic therapy for which I have heard tremendous praise.   It's on the short list of things I want to do for Sam, but right now, we just can't afford it.

This is a group dedicated to helping people get medicaid coverage for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  There's an awful lot of arguing, though, as they are an extremely passionate bunch.
